![]() ![]() Once you had all of the individual pieces, a program like WinRAR was used to reconstruct the file to its original state. This made them easier to acquire over slower connections. In the earlier days of online file sharing before speedy Internet connections, RAR file spanning was commonly used to split large downloads like games or programs into several smaller chunks. It is the latter functionality that most people likely remember RAR for. Like ZIP, RAR – short for Roshal Archive – supports data compression but additionally adds error correction and file spanning capabilities to the equation. The proprietary file archive format debuted in 1993 courtesy of Russian software engineer Eugene Roshal. I'll try to investigate further and report here if I find anything in case someone comes accross this problem. In a nutshell: More than three decades after its introduction, Microsoft has finally added native support for RAR files to Windows. I tried with Firefox and when clicking on a link to a zip file from the qlik sense table, I get a save as dialog, like I want. I realize the user can always right click on the URL to copy and paste the URL in the address bar, however, I'm embedding the sheet with an iframe tag and right clicking does not bring up any context menu. I would like the user to be able to download those zip files when clicking on a URL. However, some URLs are zip files and when those links are clicked, a new tab opens and closes immediately after. Some of the URLs are pdf files and when the link is clicked, the file opens in a new tab, which is great. I have set up the table so that the links are clickable. I'm using a table in which one of the columns contains different URLs for each rows. ![]()
